LightStim Chooses Salon Success Academy

September ’14

LightStim Director of Education Amy Gardner is coming to Salon Success Academy next month to give our students a live product demonstration, along with insight into the benefits of LightStim LED light therapy.

Amy GardnerLED light therapy is transforming the way estheticians practice their craft. The technology, which uses LED light to stimulate the body’s natural processes for building protein and regenerating cells, treats an array of skin problems. Trained estheticians use it to help with acne and skin conditions like rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis. Clients also seek out the treatment to reverse the visible signs of aging, such as sun damage and fine lines and wrinkles.

At Salon Success Academy, we recognize the importance of training our students in the latest technologies. That’s why we’ve partnered with LightStim and even include the LightStim Professional Anti-Aging Light in our student esthetician kit.

“Salon Success Academy is making a bold move by training its students in current, cutting edge technology,” said Amy.

Amy says she’s excited about her upcoming visit to Salon Success Academy and looking forward to seeing the students.

“I teach everyone from medical professionals to undergrads, but your students are different,” said Amy. “Your students really stand out. They’re very engaged and interested.”

LightSimIn October, Amy will introduce students to the patent-pending engineered LightStim LED light therapy tool and some of its many uses. But she emphasizes that real training in LED light therapy goes well beyond the tools of the trade.

“Students get to learn about the current knowledge on the aging process and the tools that are available to trained professionals,” said Amy. “They will also see the value of ongoing education. The business changes every day.”

According to Amy, students trained in LED light therapy will have more to offer their clients when they become licensed estheticians.

Amy says that the partnership between LightStim and Salon Success Academy “is really good for the students. We were looking for a school that would stand out and Salon Success Academy is it.”

Ice Bucket Challenge a Great Success

In its participation in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, Salon Success Academy raised almost $2,500 for this worthwhile cause.

ChristinaWhen Chief Operating Officer Christina Belcher was tapped by her niece to participate, she decided to challenge the whole school to get onboard. And they did not disappoint!

In addition to raising funds and awareness, the challenge quickly became an exciting school-wide event. First, students, friends and faculty stepped up to the fundraising challenged. Then, the directors and administration were good sports, saying yes to a good drenching.
