Salon Success Academy Announces a New Campus Director at Corona Campus
Salon Success Academy is glad to announce Curtis Speller as the campus director for its Corona campus. Saying that his vision of growth for the campus directly aligns with where he believes the entire institution is heading, Curtis is passionate about education, his students and their potential.
Curtis comes from a four plus-year stint as director of another school, but he’s hardly the typical beauty school director. He served 12 years as a Marine where he was a recruiter and instructor. It was in that latter capacity that he says he learned some solid principles of quality instruction and education methods for the adult learner. Being a Marine also taught him a lot about turning “a vision into a reality,” said Curtis. He knows about setting goals and using systematic planning to accomplish those goals.
Saying he has high hopes for where Salon Success Academy and its students are going, Curtis is excited about the future of the school.
“I know we can be exceptional in every aspect of our education,” said Curtis. “In addition to the nuts-and-bolts instruction we already offer, our new partnership with Vidal Sassoon is a great opportunity for our students and the school.”
He said that his personal objectives as director include creating a quality education within an exceptional learning environment. And the way he plans to do that is to be a hands-on Director involved in all aspects of the campus and the school.
“The only way to ensure quality is to be involved, and to be down there on the floor,” said Curtis. He said he has an excellent staff and knows how to delegate but that he doesn’t believe in “just sitting up in an office. You don’t learn what’s really going on unless you’re really involved.”
When asked how a Marine with a can-do attitude wound up as head of a beauty school campus, Curtis laughs. He says his fellow Marines rib him a bit, but he’s proud of the school and where it’s going and he’s happy to be associated with such a great organization. According to Curtis, the students at Salon Success Academy truly have opportunities for success.
