Looking Good –Famed Company Brings its Passion for Hair to Salon Success Academy
November ’13

Salon Success Academy is excited to join with Sassoon International Academy as one of only 20 schools worldwide enrolled in the exclusive Sassoon Academy/School Connection program. This new educational partnership will give Salon Success Academy students even more opportunities to excel at their cutting and coloring craft. Working with Sassoon, Salon Success Academy instructors will now have increased resources and materials to offer students, in addition to extensive training in adherence to the Sassoon philosophy.

Sassoon has held an international presence in the beauty industry for more than half a century. Its founder, Vidal Sassoon, was an artistic stylist famed for his visionary haircuts and innovative stylings. Modeling many of his most famous cuts on architectural principals, Sassoon became world-renowned when he revolutionized women’s hair styles in the 1960s. His short, fashionable, easy-to-maintain hairstyles were soon the rage in his home country of England and far beyond. The styles were known for clean lines, combination layers and precise cuts — and they still are. The Sassoon product motto — “if you don’t look good, we don’t look good” became an iconic tagline across the globe.

“I am just thrilled to be associated with the Sassoon brand,” said Salon Success Academy Director of Operation, Linda Rios. “The Sassoon method teaches the ABCs of foundational, precision haircuts and so much more.”

Owned by Proctor & Gamble, Sassoon has a peerless reputation for excellence in hair care products for the public and the professional, alike. And the Sassoon Academy brings a visionary process to the education of stylists that emphasizes excellence in design techniques in both cut and color. Its educational professionals deliver the most contemporary content with knowledge, ability, and most of all, true passion.

What the partnership means to Salon Success Academy students is that students will now be taught by instructors trained in the Sassoon Academy culture and the proprietary ABC cutting methodologies. Along with expansive instructional materials, the Sassoon-based curriculum teaches precise technical skills, but also includes insight into the beauty industry with lessons in practical commercial skills for beauty salon operation and management. All Sassoon Academy/School Connection member schools teach salon oriented retail skills and client service motivation.

The Salon Success Academy externship partners were excited to learn of the new Sassoon affiliation, according to Linda. She said that students steeped in the Sassoon culture will be able to practice the Sassoon methodologies in the salon.

“By adding the principles of Sassoon styling and color to our offerings, we will truly be able to produce master stylists,” said Linda.
