Relay for Life: Another Year of Success
Salon Success Academy had another successful year at our Relay for Life event, held on Saturday June 6th. Students, ambassadors, staff, friends, and family dressed up in their best Hollywood attire in keeping with the team’s Hollywood California theme. More than 50 Salon Success Academy team members, raised over $13,000 for this great cause. The 24 hour event was held at Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park to help raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society.
Two Salon Success Academy students participated in the ceremony to kick off the event. Rebecca, a cosmetology graduate and former ambassador from the Redlands campus, sang the national anthem at the opening ceremony. Another student, Tabitha sang two songs during the Luminaria Ceremony.
The Salon Success Academy team arrived early to help ensure the event’s success. They dressed in style from tuxedo t-shirts to full Hollywood costumes. The team donated a variety of salon services including manicures, back massages, eyebrow arching, and lashes.
Team captain Christina Belcher said she’s very proud of all the staff and students who took the time to participate. She said, “I couldn’t have done it without them.”
The event was a huge success and the Salon Success Academy community was happy to participate. With 36 teams and 809 total participants, the event raised over $90,000.
