Our manicuring and nail technician school in California blends in-depth classroom instruction, hands-on training, and one-on-one guidance from educators who really care about you and your success.

We offer multiple schedules that can get you started toward a future in nails! Our full-time program can be completed in as little as 12 weeks, while our night schedule can be completed in as little as 21 weeks (schedules vary by campus).

OUR PROGRAM OVERVIEW

We want our students to be prepared for a career as a nail technician and manicurist after graduation. In our program, you’ll learn all the latest techniques in nail care including how to:

• Give water and oil manicures/pedicures
• Apply acrylic nails, nail tips and brush on nails
• Perform nail repairs and wraps
• Give hand and foot massages
• Clean and disinfect your tools and work area
• Adhere to State health and safety codes
• Prepare to sit for your State Board licensing exam
• Develop and maintain client relationships

As one of our shortest programs requiring only 400 hours, this program is packed with an extensive curriculum in manicuring, laws and regulations, and so much more. The beauty of this program is that you can learn how to create intricate nail art in a variety of mediums, which can help prepare you to provide a wide range of manicuring and pedicuring services.

HANDS-ON TRAINING YOU NEED TO BECOME A LICENSED NAIL TECHNICIAN IN CALIFORNIA

Your training includes the actual experience of working in a professional salon when you work with clients on our clinic floor. All of these services will be performed under the direct supervision of licensed instructors who will be there to give advice as you first start interacting with clients.

Once you complete your 400 hours, you should have the required amount of training hours that you need to sit for your State Board exam, which is the first step to starting a new career as a licensed nail technician.

POTENTIAL CAREERS FOR NAIL TECHNICIANS

Wondering what you can do with a manicurist license? There are a variety of options, and we want to help you get there! Just a few options available to you include:

• Salon manicurist
• Product representative
• Receptionist
• Retail sales
• Salon manager or owner
• Manicuring instructor

Our curriculum includes necessary business skills that you can use for your future career. And, while we can’t guarantee employment, we do work with students with mock interviews, resume preparation, and so much more!

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

• At least 17 years old
• Able to show U.S. completion of 12th grade (diploma or transcripts), GED, or pass results for the HiSET or TASC exam

From there, we recommend you schedule a tour of our school! During that tour, we cover the entire experience, have you meet with student ambassadors, and much more. It’s an important part of the enrollment process because it makes it possible to see if Salon Success Academy is the right fit for you.
