Minerva Beauty Scholarship: Minerva, one of the leading providers of salon equipment, has partnered with the Professional Beauty Association to offer a new Minerva Beauty Scholarship. They’ll award five $1,000 scholarships to students who are currently enrolled in a cosmetology program. All winners will also receive a one-year Student Membership with the Professional Beauty Association. Applicants must have completed at least one semester of cosmetology school and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Here’s how to apply:
- Complete the application
- Submit a copy of your cosmetology school transcript
- Submit a Letter of Recommendation from a cosmetology professional
- Submit a one-page essay explaining why you’re pursuing a cosmetology degree and how you’ll use your degree to better the lives of others.
- The deadline is May 31, 2013. Winning applicants will be notified by July 15, 2013.
NCEA Scholarship: The National Coalition of Esthetics Association has partnered with AACS to create the First Esthetician Scholarship Program. Eligible esthetician students can receive a $1,000 scholarship while attending esthetic school. Applicants must be midway through an esthetician program, maintain at least 80% attendance, and 80% grade average. To apply, fill out the application and attach a one-page essay explaining your financial need and desire to become an esthetician. Applications are accepted quarterly on March 1st, September 1st, June 1st, and December 1st. The winner will be personally contacted via phone and/or email and featured in the NCEA Newsletter.
Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship: The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation memorializes the life and achievements of Joe Francis, founder of The Barbers Corporation and Regis Corporation subsidiaries. Last year, the Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation awarded 26 students $1,000 scholarships. Since its creation, the foundation has given over $196,000 in scholarship awards! To be considered for this scholarship, you must be in the process of applying to a cosmetology school, or a current student in an accredited cosmetology program. Applications accepted from January 1 to June 1. Here’s how to apply:

- Write a one-page essay describing your financial need, your interests, a brief family history, and why you want to be a cosmetologist.
- Include one or two letters of recommendation.
