How to Create the Makeup Look that Looks Like No Makeup

Spring is here. It’s time to bring out your inner glow and let your natural beauty shine through. Learn how to master a no makeup look that will make your skin feel lighter and allow you to be less worried about touch ups throughout the day.

7 Easy Steps To Achieve Your Perfect No Makeup Makeup Look

  1. Apply a Base

Cleanse first, moisturize, and then perform your usual skincare routine. A good skincare regiment will help achieve a natural glow that shines through your makeup. As with a more glamourous look, you need a tone-evening base. But instead of using full coverage, try something that’s a little sheerer. Tinted moisturizers and BB creams are great because they allow you to have a gentle kiss of color and also smooth out any uneven skin tones. The idea here is to let your natural skin show through the base. A good tip is to apply with your fingertips. It will enhance the casual look you’re going for.

  1. Conceal

Concealer is more strategic with this look. You want to still cover up your blemishes and dark circles but it’s okay if they peek through. This will allow you to look less airbrushed and more “real.” This is also a great way to naturally highlight your face instead of going in with something glittery or metallic.

  1. Create a Natural Flush

Bronzer, blush, and highlight can be overdone. Instead, use a blush to create a natural flush. Cream blushes are great for an effortless pop of color. Be sure not to add too much and again use your fingers to blend. This will warm up your product and give it a more blended look.

  1. Eyebrows

Don’t pluck or shape your brows for this look. Don’t even go crazy with pomade to fill in empty patches. Instead just set with a tinted gel that matches your hair color. Or just fill in the areas where your hair is sparse and then set them with a clear brow gel.

  1. Neutral Eyeshadow

Apply a light neutral eyeshadow to your crease to add definition. You can even add a light base to your lid. But go easy. You want people to notice your beautiful eyes instead of your shadow.  Matte shadows will be best to achieve this look but if you want a little shimmer, go for it!

  1. Mascara

Mascara will be your best friend. Brighten and enhance your eyes not only with shadow, but with mascara that will lengthen your lashes. Be careful not to choose mascara that clumps and make sure to throw away any beauty products that are past their shelf life. And for a less-is-more look, consider brown instead of black mascara.

  1. Hydrating Lip

Finish off your make up with a great lip color. For this no-makeup look though, avoid crazy colors, super mattes or sparkly lips. Just add a touch of glossiness with a natural gloss or lightly tinted lip balm.
